Slayyyter gave fans at The Eastern in Atlanta a first on September 21: her live debut of Turnstile’s“Birds.”She placed the cover at the end of her main set, right after“Brittany Murphy,”before returning for an encore of“Brand New Chanel$”and“Beat Up Chanel$.”
The studio version, titled“Birds: Slayyyter Version,”landed on Turnstile’s“Never Enough: Versions”album on August 28. The 22-track project features reworkings from Elton John, Hayley Williams, Blood Orange, A. G. Cook, Faye Webster, Four Tet and more. Turnstile’s original“Birds”took home Best Metal Performance at the 2026 Grammys, while“Never Enough”won Best Rock Album. Slayyyter’s take trades the original’s hardcore edge for a maximalist electronic sound closer to her album“Wor$t Girl In America.”
