Sharon Stone Says She's 'Gone the Distance' From Her Sex Symbol Era at Variety's Power of Women

Sharon Stone has officially closed a chapter, and she did it in heels. At Variety’s Power of Women event Wednesday at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the 68-year-old actress accepted a philanthropic award and reflected on moving past her sex symbol reputation. Her method? Staying grounded. In her speech, she said she’s“gone the distance from being a sex symbol”by keeping both feet on“terra firma,”joking about her tired feet hurting from four-inch heels on poured concrete floors.

She also made a bigger point to Page Six: women are powerful and influential simply because they’re women, and that power shows up in everyday decisions, not just awards show moments. It’s a reminder that influence doesn’t require a stage.

The night was stacked with honorees, including Jennifer Hudson, Melissa McCarthy, Issa Rae, Queen Latifah, and Paige DeSorbo.
