Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato just gave every millennial and Gen Z Disney kid a full nostalgia trip. The pair re-created the poster of their 2009 Disney Channel movie“Princess Protection Program”for a new Rare Beauty campaign, complete with gowns, tiaras, and a literal pile of luggage. The shoot launches the Delena Soft Pinch Blush Bundle, a $50 set featuring the brand’s best-selling liquid blush in the Hope and Virtue shades, plus a blush brush.

The outfits are a moment on their own. Gomez wears a teal Oscar de la Renta resort 2016 gown, while Lovato wears a $3,295 yellow Leo Lin embellished mini. But the story behind the photo is what makes it land. The two met at a“Barney”audition in 2002 when they were just seven years old and have been friends for nearly 25 years. There was a public falling-out and a stretch of distance — Lovato said in 2020 they weren’t friends at the time — before Gomez showed up to support Lovato at a concert this April. Now they’re sharing blush shades and a caption that reads“Once a Princess, always a Princess.”

The campaign turns a very personal friendship story into a product launch, and it taps straight into the 2000s Disney Channel nostalgia so many listeners grew up on. Whether you’re here for the blush or the reunion, it’s a full-circle moment worth the scroll. What’s your favorite 2000s Disney Channel movie? Tell us in the comments.
