Sass Jordan, the Canadian rock singer who scored early’90s hits and helped launch one of rock’s biggest drummers, died October 2, 2026, at age 65 after a serious medical condition. Her publicist confirmed the news, and tributes from the rock world are pouring in.
Jordan’s 1992 album Racine delivered“Make You a Believer”and“You Don’t Have to Remind Me,”and her career only grew from there. She toured with Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Van Halen, and AC/DC, recorded a duet with Joe Cocker for The Bodyguard soundtrack, and served as a Canadian Idol judge from 2003 to 2008. But her most lasting mark might be hiring a young Taylor Hawkins as her drummer in the early’90s. As one tribute put it, without Sass Jordan, Taylor Hawkins wouldn’t be in Foo Fighters.
She is survived by her husband Derek Sharp, daughter Stella, and stepdaughter Brianne. Her final performance came in July, before she canceled the rest of her 2026 dates. What’s your favorite Sass Jordan memory? Let us know in the comments.
