Roseanne Barr has been quietly working on a television comeback, and it just went public. The former“Roseanne”star has finished filming an eight-episode sitcom titled“Meemaw: A Modern Day Fable.”It was shot independently with private investor money, which means there’s no network or streaming platform attached to it yet.

The cast is a mix of familiar faces and comedy names: Randy Quaid, Drea de Matteo, Omar Gooding, Doug Jones, Jon Lovitz, Tony Hinchcliffe and Kim Congdon. Per Page Six, the show follows a Texas prepper matriarch who wants to throw her granddaughter the most extravagant bat mitzvah the state has ever seen. Barr described the project as“every bit as revolutionary as The Roseanne Show.”

This marks her first TV project since ABC fired her from“Roseanne”in 2018 over a racist tweet. In the same interview, Barr said she reached out to Elon Musk after the firing for assistance and never heard back. With no distributor in place, the big question is whether“Meemaw”ever finds a screen near you.

Would you watch it if it gets picked up somewhere? Sound off in the comments.
