Roseanne Barr is making headlines again, and this time it’s not about politics, at least not directly. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 73-year-old comedian said she is in love with her costar Randy Quaid and wishes he would leave his wife and marry her. Quaid, 76, has been married to Evi Quaid since 1989, while Barr has been with partner Johnny Argent since 2003. She also joked that she wrote extra make-out scenes for the two of them.

The quote comes as promotion for Meemaw: A Modern Day Fable, Barr’s self-financed eight-episode comedy about a mixed-race prepper family in the Texas Hill Country. Quaid plays her husband and the local sheriff, and the series marks Barr’s return to television eight years after ABC canceled her Roseanne revival over a tweet about Valerie Jarrett. In the same interview, Barr again denied that tweet was racist, insisting it was about politics.

Meemaw doesn’t have a streaming service or a release date yet, which makes the flood of headlines even more notable. Love it or hate it, the strategy is working. So we want to know: does a wild promo tour make you more likely to watch a show, or does it do the opposite? Sound off in the comments.
