A Michigan father of four named Walt was restocking Red Baron pizzas when an influencer doing a fake“$10 theft”prank walked up and started filming. Walt’s response wasn’t the reaction the prankster wanted. He called out the whole setup, saying he works late while his kids are home alone and can’t pay his mortgage while the prankster profits off views. The clip spread fast, and viewers overwhelmingly sided with Walt.

The support turned into something real. A GoFundMe titled“Support a harassed Red Baron worker”has now raised more than $500,000. Red Baron responded too, naming Walt employee of the month and confirming he still has his job, adding that he’s“got a fan club. Including us.”The influencer’s account has since been deactivated.

The story landed hard because it hits two nerve points at once: a growing backlash against prank content that targets strangers, and the everyday stress of working parents trying to keep up with the bills. What do you think: should prank videos targeting strangers be allowed at all?
