The emotional centerpiece came from an updated recording of her grandmother’s voice:“I know you have been promoting this song for a long time. But be patient, my granddaughter. Your husband is coming.”It landed, and the room knew it. The song has been building all year, peaking at Number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, and it’s nominated for Song of the Year against a stacked field that includes Madonna, Sabrina Carpenter, and BTS. Her second album, This Music May Contain Hope, arrived back in March.
She wasn’t finished for the night either. Raye is set to return to the stage for the George Michael tribute alongside Sombr and Teddy Swims, a decade after his passing.
