A violation report filed Tuesday in Comanche County District Court says 31-year-old Kenneth Blaine Nobles has stopped reporting to his probation officer and cannot be located. Nobles pleaded guilty in 2014 to first-degree manslaughter in the 2013 shooting death of 35-year-old Johnathan Shepherd, receiving 12 years to serve plus eight suspended. He began probation supervision on Feb. 28, 2025. Records show a motion to revoke that suspended sentence was already pending from early August, after he pleaded not guilty and posted a $25,000 bond.

In July 2026, Nobles was charged in two new cases: fentanyl trafficking and firearms possession, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was free on $50,000 and $75,000 bonds in those cases, with preliminary hearings set for Nov. 20. Probation Officer Richard Wilson wrote in the violation report that Nobles is a very high risk to himself and the community as a violent offender, and no longer a good candidate for probation.
