Prince Harry went skydiving in Toronto on Friday, and his jump partner was a 102-year-old WWII veteran named Ed Marshall. The two made the leap together after Harry promised Marshall last year that he’d join him if Marshall jumped again, following Marshall’s own skydive on his 100th birthday. The stunt raised money and awareness for the True Love Patriot Foundation and Sunnybrook, and also promoted the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
After landing safely, Harry kissed the ground and called his wife Meghan Markle, who had been nervous during the lengthy ascent to altitude. He said she was relieved once they were down. Harry also praised Canada, noting that Meghan lived there for seven years and most people assumed she was Canadian. The jump comes as Harry and Meghan settle back into UK life with their children Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, after several years in Montecito, California.
