Prince Harry is officially back on the UK engagement scene. Two weeks after returning to England with Meghan and their children, the Duke of Sussex has confirmed his first official engagements, and it’s a packed schedule. He’ll attend the Invictus Spirit Awards on Sept. 17, where he’ll also launch INSPIRE, a new education program tied to the Invictus Games. Then it’s on to the WellChild Awards in London on Sept. 21, marking 20 years of the WellChild Nurse program, a cause Harry has supported for years. After that, he heads to New York for the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting on Sept. 22-23.
The return hasn’t been without tension. King Charles reportedly referred to Harry and Meghan as“private citizens with commercial and charitable interests,”a label that reportedly frustrated the couple. On top of that, Uganda pulled out of hosting Harry’s Invictus Games, prompting a pointed statement from Harry:“Sadly, the only people who will suffer are the Invictus Games competitors.”
Despite the drama, Harry’s focus seems to be on the causes he’s championed for years.
