Porsha Williams' Ex Simon Guobadia Indicted on Federal Tax Charges After Deportation

Simon Guobadia, the ex-husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, was indicted October 27 in federal court in Georgia on two counts of filing false tax returns. Prosecutors allege his March 2021 filing reported zero taxable income despite substantial earnings, and that his company Simcol Petroleum understated gross sales. An arrest warrant has been issued, though it’s unclear whether he has been taken into custody.

The charges arrive after a very eventful stretch for Guobadia. He was deported to Nigeria in June 2025 following about four months in ICE custody, and in August 2026, Porsha won the couple’s roughly $7 million Atlanta mansion in their divorce settlement. The indictment does not establish guilt, but that hasn’t stopped social media from running with the“scammer”narrative.

The open question is whether a federal case in Georgia can actually reach someone who’s been deported to Nigeria, and whether any of this affects Porsha’s settlement or support arrangements. We’ll be watching how it unfolds. What do you think happens next in this saga?
