Amber Siyavus, best known as“Whamber”from the 2007 season of“Big Brother,”was found unresponsive in a Las Vegas bedroom on Oct. 9 and died at 46. A police report obtained by TMZ reveals what investigators found at the scene: a snorting straw and lighter in her hand, white powder, burnt aluminum foil and prescription pills nearby, and four Narcan sprays in her luggage.
According to the report, her aunt discovered Siyavus after she had been lying in the same position for more than four hours. The aunt told police Siyavus had a history of drug use and had previously attended rehab, though she showed no signs of suicidal thoughts during a recent visit with her mother. Siyavus placed seventh on“Big Brother”in 2007 and was beloved by fans for her emotional, crying-heavy run on the show.
Her death puts a familiar face on a crisis that touches families everywhere. Narcan, the overdose-reversal spray, was found in her own luggage, a detail that speaks to how aware she and her family were of the risk. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, help is available through the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and local harm reduction programs.
