Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren Get Wild in MobLand Season 2: "Go Irish; Go Mad"

Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are having the time of their lives playing ruthless crime bosses in MobLand Season 2. The two legends star as Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, a married couple fighting to keep control of their empire while threats pile up from every direction. Brosnan revealed that director Guy Ritchie gave him the simplest and most chaotic direction before his first scene:“Go Irish; go mad.”

Mirren opened up about how she approaches Maeve, saying she never thinks about the character’s motivation because Maeve is impulsive and reckless. That free-spirited approach is exactly what makes the Harrigans so compelling to watch. Season 2 also introduces Boston crime boss Kat McAllister and her enforcer Frankie Cooper, adding even more pressure to an already explosive family dynamic. With their son Kevin plotting and Maeve secretly training a protégé, the Harrigans are surrounded.

Written by playwright Jez Butterworth and directed by Guy Ritchie, MobLand has become one of streaming’s most talked-about crime dramas.
