Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd are officially confirming what fans have been guessing for months: their relationship ended in 2025, after the couple went public that July. The two made the announcement on Fudd’s podcast,“Fudd Around and Find Out,”and were quick to set the record straight on everything else.
That includes the draft chatter. Fudd went No. 1 overall to the Dallas Wings in April 2026, where Bueckers also plays. Bueckers addressed the rumor directly:“She was not drafted because she was my girlfriend. She was drafted because she deserved it.”Both players also asked fans to stop spreading hate toward them, their teammates and their families.
The former UConn teammates say they remain friends and played a full season together as pros. According to Fudd, the podcast is the last time they plan to discuss the breakup publicly. Fair enough.
