Oasis Doc Directors Reveal Why the Noel and Liam Reconciliation Scene Doesn't Exist

Fans hoping for a tearful Noel and Liam reunion moment in the new Oasis documentary are going to be waiting a while, because the filmmakers say that scene was never filmed. Not because they cut it, but because it never happened. Director Dylan Southern explained that the brothers didn’t sit down for any kind of emotional conversation. They walked into a room together, picked up their instruments, started playing, and just like that, Oasis was back.

Instead of a backstage heart-to-heart, Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger shows the relationship thawing in real time on stage during the 2025 reunion tour. Writer Steven Knight described it as the emotion of two unemotional English working-class men, something that unfolded in spite of themselves. The film saves the only joint Noel and Liam interview for near the end, and it weaves in fan stories from around the world to show how far these songs travel.

The doc lands on Disney+ this Friday, October 9, with unseen footage. And the Oasis story isn’t slowing down: another UK, Europe and North America tour is confirmed for next year, it sold out, and Liam has hinted new music could follow if things keep going well. So the question is, do you need the big dramatic reconciliation moment, or is watching two brothers slowly find their way back on stage even better?
