A college student just became the unlikely star of a feud between his mother and a billionaire, and his response is going viral. Ariel Ehrlich, a USC student and son of New York Times reporter Katherine Rosman, published a Substack essay Tuesday addressing Amy Griffin’s alleged threat to make his life“miserable”over Rosman’s reporting on Griffin’s memoir“The Tell.”
Griffin’s spokesperson denies the allegation, saying her remarks at a 2025 Aspen retreat were taken out of context. Ehrlich says he’s received no evidence that Griffin actually tried to harm him, and he expressed support for Griffin’s children and his fellow nepo babies. He closed the essay with a quote from Bhad Bhabie:“Catch me outside.”
The feud also pulled in Billy Bush, who accused Griffin of threatening to bankrupt him over his coverage of her legal battle. Do journalists’family members deserve to be off-limits when reporting gets personal? Drop your take in the comments.
