Noah Kahan's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" Performance Stole the 2026 Emmys In Memoriam

The 2026 Emmys saved their most emotional moment for the In Memoriam segment, and Noah Kahan was at the center of it. The“Stick Season”singer took the Peacock Theater stage on Monday night to perform“Bridge Over Troubled Water,”the Paul Simon classic. Producer Jesse Collins told Variety the song choice came straight from Kahan, who picked it because it’s very meaningful to him and Simon is one of his favorite artists. Collins added that Kahan worked closely with the team to create something special, and the reaction online suggests he pulled it off.

The segment honored Rob Reiner, Sam Neill, Tim Curry, Isaiah Whitlock Jr., James Van Der Beek, and Catherine O’Hara, who also received an early tribute from Macaulay Culkin, Annie Murphy, and Dan Levy. Annie Murphy’s line,“She was our mama,”had social media in tears. Jamie Lee Curtis remembered James Burrows and Rob Reiner during the ceremony, adding another emotional beat to the night.

Of course, the In Memoriam also sparked its usual debate.
