Noah Kahan fans, your weekend just got booked.“Draw You Out”arrived at midnight as the lead single from“The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album),”and it marks another team-up with Aaron Dessner, who co-wrote and co-produced the track. The two recorded it between Long Pond in New York and studios in Nashville, the same creative partnership that’s shaped so much of Kahan’s recent sound.
The soundtrack itself is a big one. It’s due November 13 via MCA, executive produced by Dave Cobb, and features 29 cross-genre artists. Kahan is the only artist announced so far, which makes him the early face of the whole project. The prequel film follows a week later, opening in theaters November 20 and set 24 years before the original story.
For Kahan, this one’s personal. He’s read all the books and seen all the movies, and he called joining the franchise“an insane opportunity,”adding that he can’t believe he gets to be part of it. Between the new single, the full album, and the film, this fall is stacked. Have you listened to“Draw You Out”yet? Tell us what you think.
