Nick Cannon Says He and Mariah Carey Talk Almost Every Day About Their Twins

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey called it quits back in 2016, but you’d never know it from the way they operate now. Cannon told Us Weekly that he and his ex-wife talk almost every day, or every other day, and the conversation is mostly about their 15-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. He also said the divorce was never messy or difficult, which is rare air for a high-profile split.

The part that’s really getting people talking? Cannon called Carey his“greatest friend and greatest teacher all at the same time.”He credits her with teaching him how to protect his privacy and block out outside negativity, a skill he’s leaned on hard while raising ten younger children from other relationships.

There’s also a fun update on the next generation: Cannon says Monroe wants to study theater at Pepperdine or NYU, so the family’s arts streak may not be done yet. It’s a genuinely sweet update from a celebrity ex-couple that figured out how to keep the peace.
