Netflix has unveiled the first image of Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen in character as Patsy and John Bennett Ramsey, and the resemblance is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. The two star in“The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey,”a dramatization of the six-year-old’s 1996 killing in her Boulder, Colorado home and the media firestorm that followed. The series premieres December 10.

The cast rounds out with Garrett Hedlund, Alison Pill and Chris Bauer as the investigating officers. Patsy Ramsey died of ovarian cancer in 2006 at 49, while John Ramsey is 82 and still alive today. The case itself remains officially unsolved, which is a big part of why it refuses to leave the public conversation.

McCarthy, best known for comedy, has called the role a challenge and said she hopes the series gives the family their humanity while telling the story. She’s also said she’s firmly convinced the Ramsey family is innocent. That position is already fueling debate online, and the show doesn’t even premiere for months.

Will you be watching when it drops, or is this one story you’d rather leave in the past?
