Nashville International Airport is one step closer to becoming Dolly Parton International. The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority board voted 6-0 to rename the airport in her honor, the first move in a rebranding process that will unfold over the coming months.

The push came fast. Governor Bill Lee announced the plan after Parton died in late August, and a Change.org petition that fans had been circulating for over a year suddenly gained thousands of signatures. That momentum nudged the board to vote early, ahead of its originally scheduled Sept. 17 hearing.

Nothing is locked in yet. There’s no official new name and no timeline for when the signs change. But the airport is the place where Tennessee welcomes the world, and board members made it clear they think Dolly’s name belongs right there on it. So, what do you think the airport should be called? Drop your best name ideas in the comments.
