Anika Rashaun, best known to MTV fans from“Real World Seattle: Bad Blood”and“The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions,”died Oct. 1 at age 34. Her death came more than a year after a stage four breast cancer diagnosis. She was 24 when she joined the franchise in 2016, with her ex-boyfriend Will Groomes cast as her“bad blood,”and was eliminated in the third episode of“The Challenge”in 2017.

Reality TV was only part of her story. After leaving the spotlight, Rashaun became a professional matchmaker and launched her own lifestyle and relationship brand, ASKANIKA. This Valentine’s Day, she married her husband Kyle in San Marcos, Calif., a milestone that came just months before her death.

On Thursday, what would have been her 35th birthday, friends shared tributes, including Tiara Ramos, who remembered her as“always so unapologetically herself.”Another friend wrote,“It breaks my heart that Anika’s journey ended the way it did.”What’s the one memory of her that fans should keep? Tell us in the comments.
