MSG Wedding Rumors Heat Up: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's July 3 Nuptials

The wedding bells are ringing louder than ever. Fresh reports from The New York Times suggest that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce aren’t just getting married—they’re planning to do it in one of the most iconic venues in the world, Madison Square Garden, on July 3.

Here’s what’s fueling the speculation: City officials confirmed to The New York Times that a permit was filed to close streets around MSG from July 2 to midday July 4. An Amtrak police officer briefed on the preparations was told to expect a wedding that weekend. Meanwhile, Winick Productions, which has worked on events at MSG, filed an application to set up a tent or canopy outside the venue for an event that could include 500 to 999 guests. And perhaps most tellingly, several of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates have booked rooms at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square—just blocks from MSG—for dates around July 3.

The setup is certainly elaborate. But then again, when you’re marrying a global pop superstar and an NFL star, both 36 years old, there’s no such thing as too big. The couple, who announced their engagement in 2025 after two years of dating, had initially been rumored to exchange vows at Swift’s Rhode Island mansion. Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse shut that down in June, saying he didn’t think that was the plan.“I think that she gave Rhode Island a pass,”he told TMZ DC.“But I’d hope so, I’d love to have her in Rhode Island.”

Then came the kicker: New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to inadvertently confirm the wedding during a press conference earlier this month while discussing the city’s role in hosting the 2026 World Cup.“We know it coincides with the [New York] Knicks’[NBA] Finals run. During an April episode of her“Not Gonna Lie”podcast, Kylie Kelce, Travis’s sister-in-law, delivered a blunt message:“Stop f***ing asking me. Stop asking my mother-in-law…Even if I did have any information, I’m not f***ing telling you. That’s private information, if I had it. Private information between family.”
