Ms. Rachel just matched Macklemore’s $1 million donation to Palestinian aid groups, and she didn’t stop there. In an Instagram post Thursday, the children’s educator invited every wealthy white celebrity to match the donation and speak out against the genocide in Gaza, pointing to the more than 20,000 Palestinian children who have been killed.

The original donation came from Macklemore, who pledged his entire $1 million in net earnings from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour to six organizations. After he voiced support for Palestinians, he was removed from the remaining U.S. tour dates. Then Ed Sheeran called New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who confirmed he’ll provide $2 million in matching humanitarian aid, though he hasn’t specified which organizations will receive the funds.

The ripple effect on the tour keeps growing: Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe and Beoga have all withdrawn from the remaining dates. One donation has now turned into a multi-million-dollar chain, and the pressure on other celebrities isn’t going away. So we want to know: should famous people be expected to speak out, or should they stay out of it? Sound off in the comments.
