Mojo Brookzz’s debut Netflix stand-up special,“I Know You Lying,”premiered Tuesday, Oct. 6, and by the next day it had climbed to No. 1 on Netflix’s U.S. top 10 shows list. The special was filmed at Atlanta’s Center Stage Theater and directed by Mike Lavin, with Brookzz delivering his unfiltered takes on relationships, BBL culture, celebrity encounters, and family life.
The No. 1 finish caps a long grind for Brookzz, whose real name is Dyon Brooks. He broke out through viral comedy sketches, then took it to the road, selling over 100,000 tickets across 40 cities on his previous tour, according to WME. Along the way he landed a role on“Wild‘N Out,”a part in Tyler Perry’s Netflix series“Miss Governor,”and a spot on Variety’s 2025 Comics to Watch list.
The win carries extra weight given his backstory. In 2013, his late sister encouraged him to pursue comedy two days before she died of cancer. Brookzz celebrated the No. 1 spot by thanking fans for showing up:“I’m proud of what I created&I’m happy that yall loving it!”Have you watched“I Know You Lying”yet?
