Michael Douglas is spilling everything in his new memoir“One Helluva Ride,”including a decades-old secret about his“Basic Instinct”days. The actor writes that he had an affair with co-star Jeanne Tripplehorn while he was still married to his first wife, Diandra Luker, and that he fell hard enough to consider leaving the marriage. Perhaps the biggest surprise? For years, the rumor mill pointed at Sharon Stone. It was Tripplehorn all along.

According to Douglas, he reached out to Tripplehorn before the book was published, and she gave him her blessing.“I talked to her before I put it in the book. She was fine,”he told Page Six. He describes the relationship as important to him, even though the two haven’t spoken in years. Since then, everyone has clearly moved on: Douglas married Catherine Zeta-Jones in 2000, and Tripplehorn married actor Leland Orser the same year.

The memoir doesn’t stop there. Douglas also covers his affair with Kathleen Turner, his cocaine addiction, his cancer battle, and his long marriage to Zeta-Jones. It’s a full-circle look at a Hollywood life lived very publicly. Would you want a phone call from an ex before they put your old relationship in a book? Tell us in the comments.
