Michael Douglas Is 82 and Officially in His "Lazy Era": Golf, Family, and a Memoir Full of Secrets

Michael Douglas has nothing left to prove, and he knows it. The 82-year-old actor told Page Six he’s in his“lazy era,”swapping red carpets for golf courses and travel.“My values have changed from career being probably the most important thing to my family and community,”he said. It’s a full vibe shift for a guy who’s been working in Hollywood for over five decades.

That shift comes with a new memoir,“One Helluva Ride,”which is as candid as the title suggests. Douglas writes about his early New York days sharing a one-bedroom Upper West Side apartment with Danny DeVito, his September 1992 rehab stint for cocaine addiction, and his son Cameron’s seven-year prison sentence related to addiction. He says his age and his son’s struggles pushed him toward honesty instead of image management.

And yes, Catherine Zeta-Jones, his wife of 26 years, is currently reading the memoir. Douglas says she’s fine with it. Which raises the big question: would you want your spouse reading every detail of your wildest years? Sound off in the comments.
