Michael Douglas is out here rewriting Hollywood history in his new memoir One Helluva Ride. The 82-year-old Oscar winner reveals that during the filming of 1992’s Basic Instinct, he fell very hard for his costar Jeanne Tripplehorn, who was nearly 20 years his junior, even though he was still married to his first wife Diandra Luker at the time. Douglas writes that he was ready to leave his marriage for Tripplehorn but ultimately ended things after production wrapped.
The memoir doesn’t stop there. Douglas also confesses to a secret relationship with Kathleen Turner, his Romancing the Stone costar, back in the 1980s. That revelation stayed hidden for decades. Turner, 72, responded with nothing but grace, saying she loves Michael and looks forward to enjoying the book.
For the record, everyone has moved on. Douglas and Luker divorced in 1995, he married Catherine Zeta-Jones in 2000, and Tripplehorn married Leland Orser the same year. Three decades later, the secrets are finally out. What celebrity memoir reveal caught you the most off guard? Let us know in the comments.
