Melissa Rycroft is opening up like never before. The former Bachelor contestant and Dancing With the Stars champion was arrested last week for her second DWI in 13 months, reportedly after leaving the scene of a Halloween night collision with a stopped ambulance in Southlake, Texas. The arrest came months after she pleaded guilty to a September 2025 DWI crash into a tree, which resulted in 20 months of probation.

On Tuesday, Rycroft posted a statement on Instagram addressing everything directly.“I’ve been struggling with my mental health for quite some time now. It has completely overwhelmed me,”she wrote, adding,“No excuses at all, but I’m finally admitting that I need help.”She says she’s now receiving professional care and asked fans for grace as she focuses on her health, with her husband Tye Strickland and their three children supporting her.

The 43-year-old became a fan favorite on season 13 of The Bachelor in 2009 and later won the all-star season of DWTS. Now the conversation has shifted from the crash details to bigger questions about mental health, responsibility, and what second chances should really look like. Where do you stand: does honesty about struggling earn someone grace, or do the repeated decisions behind the wheel matter more? Sound off in the comments.
