Dave Grohl Sobs Like a Baby After Playing 'Highway To Hell' With AC/DC

Dave Grohl has played with rock royalty, but one night with AC/DC turned him into a puddle. The Foo Fighters frontman told New Zealand radio station The Rock that after joining AC/DC for“Highway To Hell,”he walked off stage and completely broke down.“I broke down in tears, sobbing like a baby,”he said.

The collab came together fast. Foo Fighters opened for AC/DC in St. Louis on September 8 after The Pretty Reckless dropped out, and it went so well that Brian Johnson brought Grohl back out to play guitar and sing at AC/DC’s tour-closing MetLife Stadium show last month. Grohl called it one of the most full-circle moments of his life, which makes sense when you know he fell for the band as a kid watching the Let There Be Rock film.

He also crowned AC/DC the loudest band in the world, and that’s coming from a guy who’s spent decades on some of the biggest stages around. Meanwhile, Foo Fighters have had a packed year with their 12th album, Your Favorite Toy, plus a North American tour. So what’s the one band you’d cry happy tears over getting to play with? Tell us in the comments.
