Melanie C is parting with three pieces from her personal wardrobe for this year’s Uber x Australian Red Cross Clothing Drive, and one of them is the green and yellow tracksuit that helped define the Sporty Spice look. She’s also donating a grey sequin suit and a little black Gucci dress. All three will be sold in Australian Red Cross Shops, with proceeds supporting the charity’s work.
The drive is now in its eighth year and has become a genuine fixture on the Australian spring calendar. Last year, the campaign collected almost 125,000kg of pre-loved clothing. This year wraps up with a one-day doorstep pickup on Saturday, October 17, in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney, so there’s still time to sort through your wardrobe.
Mel C has plenty of Australian ties these days. She’s coached two seasons on The Voice Australia, and her artist Yung Milla won the 2026 season. She’s also a genuine fan of secondhand shopping, having once found a yellow bomber jacket at a Red Cross Shop in Bondi Junction that she wore on the show.
Planning a donation for October 17? What’s the piece you’re finally ready to let go of?
