Madonna Reveals Sabrina Carpenter Left Her on Delivered for 5 Days Before Their VMA-Winning Collab

Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter took home best collaboration at the 2026 VMAs for“Bring Your Love,”but the acceptance speech is what really got people talking. Madonna told the crowd she reached out about working together, then waited five days without hearing back before DM’ing Sabrina directly. Once they connected, they were in the studio within weeks, and the rest is awards-show history.

Sabrina’s response was instant and hilarious. She told the room her team was“s—ting themselves”backstage once they realized Madonna was about to tell that story on national television. Madonna also credited their connection to complementary habits and shared OCD, while Sabrina kept it simple with“I love you very much.”

The pair opened the show together, with Sabrina on piano and Madonna lounging on top, then Madonna kept the night going with a medley featuring Charli xcx, Julia Garner, sombr and Seth Rogen.
