During an appearance on Valerie Bertinelli’s“Getting Naked”podcast, Phillips said flatly that Richard Masur, who played divorce lawyer David Kane for one season,“wasn’t very nice”on the“One Day at a Time”set. She didn’t elaborate much. She didn’t have to.
The story doesn’t end there, though. Phillips revealed that years after the show, she ran into Masur at an event, and he apologized. He even admitted he didn’t remember what he said. She accepted, which means this is one of the rare Hollywood memories that actually gets a resolution instead of a sequel.
