Lubbock Oktoberfest Returns October 11th With Free Admission and Seven Local Breweries

Lubbock’s Oktoberfest is back for its sixth year, and this one is free to attend. The celebration runs Sunday, October 11th from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Pavilion at Spirit Ranch, 701 Regis Street, presented by Spirit Ranch and Scoggin Dickey Parts.

Seven regional breweries are on the pour list this year: Brewery LBK, Good Line Beer Co., Mano Negra, Pondaseta Brewing Co., Tall City Brewing Co., Two Docs Brewing and Triple J Brewery. Between sips, catch live music from SPiVEY and Joy Riot, browse local vendors, and grab some German food. There’s also a best-dressed contest for the lederhosen crowd and a beer stein-holding competition for anyone who wants to test their grip in front of a crowd.

It’s not just a grown-up event either. Kids’activities include bounce houses and games, which makes this an easy family outing. Spirit Ranch’s Escondido Canyon setting, with its large trees and open green space, has helped turn the festival into a fall tradition, and the free admission means you can show up, look around, and stay as long as you like.
