Lorde Quotes Taylor Swift While Closing Her Virgin Era: "An Exit Ceremony" and "A Beginning"

Lorde is saying goodbye to her Virgin era this weekend, but not without one more moment. Her final two shows of the album cycle land at FORM Arcosanti on Friday and Austin City Limits on Saturday. On Instagram, she called the dates“an exit ceremony for this album,”thanked fans for“the most inspiring special tour i have ever been on,”and quoted“capture it, remember it”from Taylor Swift’s Fearless, a nod to their years-long friendship. Virgin debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in July 2025, and she has been on the road since, first with the Ultrasound arena trek, then a full festival run this summer.

The weekend also comes with a political edge. During ACL’s first weekend, Lorde wore a“Free Palestine”jacket on stage and tagged an unverified Robert Kraft account. The billionaire owner of Gillette Stadium reportedly pushed to have Macklemore removed from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour over pro-Palestinian protests, and the onstage tag read as a direct response.

So what comes after the exit ceremony? Lorde says it“feels like a beginning,”which is the closest thing to a new-era confirmation fans are going to get for now. Where do you want her to go next: another album, a full tour, or a surprise collab?
