Kylie Jenner is stepping into scripted television in a big way. She’ll star in and executive produce“Bachelorette Weekend,”a thriller drama nearing a straight-to-series order at Hulu. Jenner plays the bride, who is murdered in a pool during her bachelorette weekend, leaving her friends as the suspects. The show pieces together the events leading up to the murder, with Jenner’s character described as the“North Star”of the series.
The project has a serious family connection. The script was sent to Kim Kardashian to produce, and Kim suggested her sister for the lead role. Both sisters now executive produce the series together. It’s created by Lauren Oliver, based on an unpublished book by Flora Collins, with Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment producing. The role marks Jenner’s first major acting part after her appearance as a fictionalized version of herself in Charli XCX’s A24 mockumentary“The Moment.”
So is this the start of a whole new chapter for Kylie, or just a one-time experiment? And more importantly, are you watching the second it drops? Tell us what you think in the comments.
