Kyle Chrisley, the brother of reality TV personality Savannah Chrisley, entered a guilty plea this week to resisting arrest in Rutherford County, Tennessee, closing out one chapter of a case that started with a December arrest that made national headlines. Eight other charges, including three counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, public intoxication, disorderly conduct and three counts of retaliation for past action, were dismissed during the same hearing.
According to the affidavit, the arrest followed a call from Chrisley’s wife, Ashleigh Nelson, who told dispatchers he was walking down the middle of a two-lane road and was making suicidal and homicidal threats. Deputies said that when they tried to speak with him, he became aggressive, charged at them, and threw punches before being subdued with OC spray. The 35-year-old has prior arrests for drug possession in 2019 and aggravated assault in 2023.
The plea adds another entry to the Chrisley family’s long public history of legal troubles, which includes his parents Todd and Julie Chrisley currently serving prison terms. Kyle’s sister Savannah has kept busy with her podcast, her engagement and her pregnancy news while the family drama continues to make headlines.
Do you think a single guilty plea should be reported as a legal victory, or is it just how plea deals work? Let us know in the comments.
