Kraft Heinz Canada has officially entered the beverage game, sort of. The company partnered with Solly’s Cream Soda for a limited-edition drink called KD x Solly’s, which combines the flavor of mac and cheese with classic cream soda. It pours with a bold orange hue, smells like powdered cheddar, and somehow tastes mostly citrusy with almost no cheesy finish. The internet, predictably, lost its mind.
Reviews have been all over the map. A Blaze News taste test gave it a 2.4 out of 10, with one taster saying it’s“not horrible, but it’s horrible”and admitting you could probably finish a can. A Reddit reviewer was less forgiving, comparing it to a prebiotic drink and calling it a“massive disappointment.”Food critic Dan Clapson offered a middle ground, calling it“surprisingly drinkable”while noting the cheese flavor never really shows up.
So is this a genius marketing stunt or a crime against both soda and dinner? Either way, it got everyone talking, which is probably the whole point. Limited-edition novelty collabs live and die by the buzz, and this one is definitely buzzing. The only real question left is whether you’re brave enough to grab a can. Would you try mac and cheese soda, or is this a hard pass? Tell us in the comments.
