Taylor Swift’s courtside appearances have been a whole storyline across the NBA, but two Knicks players aren’t buying the hype. During an NBA 2K TikTok livestream on Thursday, guards Tyler Kolek and Miles“Deuce”McBride named Swift the“fakest”celebrity Knicks fan. Kolek said her support feels“a little performative,”pointing out that he hasn’t seen her at other games beyond the biggest moments.

To be fair, those moments were big. Swift was in the building for Game 4 of the NBA Finals and made the road trip to Cleveland alongside her husband Travis Kelce. Kolek even anticipated the blowback, saying he was“gonna get some hate from the Swifties.”Instead of Swift, the players shouted out Ben Stiller and Tracy Morgan as the celebrities who genuinely show up for the team.

Swifties versus sports fans has become its own genre of internet drama at this point, and this one has extra fuel since Swift released her Toy Story 5 song“I Knew It, I Knew You”the same month she was at the Finals.
