Organizer Eric Deters needed to sell 100 VIP tickets at $1,000 each to his wealthy contacts to cover the whole event. He sold six.
That is $6,000 to bankroll a multi-day festival, and it wasn’t nearly enough. Patriots Day Freedom Fest 2026 got canceled less than a week before it was set to begin, and Deters announced the news in a video where he did not hold back. He called out the associates who ignored him or offered travel excuses, and then delivered two promises: he is never doing this event again, and none of those people will ever get a favor from him again.
