Ken Urker was found unresponsive in Louisiana on October 1, his 34th birthday. Gypsy Rose Blanchard has said he died of an overdose, while Page Six reported he was found with drugs, paraphernalia, and a handgun, and had split from Blanchard about a month before his death.
In the days since, Urker’s family has extended an olive branch. They invited Blanchard to his funeral services in Texas, and family sources say there’s no tension between them. Blanchard attended a private viewing in Louisiana with Urker’s mother, two sisters, and brother. His sister Autumn, who had publicly disputed Blanchard’s account of his death, was reportedly not at that viewing. Blanchard is also asking for a second memorial in Louisiana so family who can’t travel to Texas can pay their respects.
Beyond the funeral plans, Blanchard has launched an online petition for“Kenan’s Law,”aimed at targeted online harassment and cyberbullying, which she says he endured before his passing. The petition has reignited a bigger conversation about how far internet commentary should be allowed to go.
What do you think? Would“Kenan’s Law”actually make a difference, or is the real problem something no law can fix?
