Kelly Osbourne is finally telling the story behind those BRIT Awards photos everyone was talking about in February. In a candid new interview with The Sun, she revealed she’s gained 30 pounds since that red carpet moment, and the weight loss wasn’t what anyone assumed. She dropped the weight while grieving her father, Ozzy Osbourne, after his death in July 2025 at age 76. Eating made her feel sick, she said, and she couldn’t take care of herself during that stretch. She didn’t even clock how much weight she’d lost until she saw the photos of herself.“I didn’t know that I looked like that until I saw the pictures,”she told The Sun.
The recovery part is the real gut-punch. Osbourne says she asked her late father for help through candle magic at his grave, and her mother Sharon introduced her to therapist and life coach Chris Miller, who she credits with saving her life. She’s now eight months sober after drinking again following Ozzy’s death. The year also brought her split from Sid Wilson, and despite calling it the worst year of her life, she says it was also beautiful in its own way. She remains devoted to her son, Sidney.
She also addressed the plastic surgery rumors head-on, saying the only work she’s had done is Botox for eyebrow lines and jaw grinding. Her reflection on the whole thing might be the most quotable line of the year:“I’ve learned that my grief is an honor, as I truly love someone that much.”What’s the best way to support a friend who’s grieving?
