Keke Palmer just made a huge announcement on Instagram: she is officially the new host ofThe Voicefor Season 31. NBC is rebranding the upcoming season asThe Voice: Celebrity, which means celebrities will be the ones competing for the crown instead of undiscovered singers. Palmer, 32, is taking over from Carson Daly, who has been the show’s only host since 2011.
Daly is stepping away after 30 seasons to focus on his co-anchor duties at theTodayshow and to spend more time with his family. He won’t be leaving the show entirely, though. He will remain an executive producer and could even return for Season 32 if scheduling allows. Season 30, which Daly already filmed, is set to premiere this September.
The new season also brings fresh coaching talent. Joe Jonas is joining returning coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green. With a celebrity lineup, a new host, and a new coach,The Voiceis entering a completely different era.
