KATSEYE has been on an absolute tear this year, and they just added a Brazilian chapter. On Friday, Oct. 2, the group released a remix of“Hootie Frutti”produced by Pedro Sampaio, the Brazilian singer, producer and DJ known for that unmistakable baile funk bounce. The new version pushes the track’s funk influences to the front and brings in Brazilian funk singer Mc Gw along with underground queer femme DJ Clementaum, who closes the song out with an outro that is already getting a lot of attention.
The numbers behind the original explain why this remix was inevitable.“Hootie Frutti”dropped Aug. 14 and climbed to No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving KATSEYE their sixth consecutive top 40 single. Its parent EP, WILD, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 170,000 units. That combination of chart consistency and streaming power makes the group one of the most reliable new acts in pop right now, and it gives them room to take creative swings like this one.
The timing could not be better, either. The U.S. leg of the Wildworld Tour opens Oct. 13 at Miami’s Kaseya Center, and on Oct. 18 the group headlines the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Between the SNL debut, the chart records and now a Brazilian remix, KATSEYE is having the kind of fall that most artists spend years chasing. So we want to know: which version of“Hootie Frutti”are you putting on repeat, the original or the remix? Tell us in the comments.
