Katie Thurston Defends 3-Month Engagement to Jeff Arcuri: "When You Know, You Know"

Katie Thurston is not here for the timeline police. The Bachelorette alum stopped by the“Not Married to This”podcast and defended her very fast engagement to comedian Jeff Arcuri, who proposed in August 2024, about three months after their first date. Her explanation? Long distance made every single visit intentional, and with no drinking or outside noise, they saw each other clearly.“We’ve just dated so many people that we know what we know now,”she said, adding,“When you know, you know.”

Then everything changed. Thurston was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer shortly before the couple eloped in their New York apartment on March 22, 2025. They even secured that apartment sight unseen while they were still in Hawaii. Her cancer later progressed to stage IV, and she underwent a double mastectomy in April 2025. Arcuri has said her treatment also shifted their family-planning timeline, turning a world tour into something much more personal.

For anyone following her story since The Bachelorette, where her engagement to Blake Moynes lasted only about two months, this chapter looks completely different. The ring came faster. The commitment stuck. Would you say yes after three months if it felt right? Sound off in the comments.
