Kaia Gerber Called Presley Her "Greatest Teacher" One Month Before His Death

In an August Vogue cover story, Kaia Gerber opened up about her brother Presley in a way that felt rare for a famous family. She praised him for being transparent about his addiction and mental health, calling him her“greatest teacher”and saying he showed her that there’s only so much you can hide from the world. Their parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, had been private for most of their lives. Presley chose a different path.

Kaia also got honest about the toll it took on her. She said Presley’s struggles“kind of level everyone,”and described self-identifying as“the easy one”because she never wanted to ask for help. It felt like too much to have two children needing support at once. That admission resonated with anyone who has ever minimized their own pain to protect the people around them.
