Liz Cho and Josh Elliott are heading to trial whether they like it or not. A Connecticut judge ruled that their divorce trial will happen on Dec. 14 and Dec. 21, even though both anchors agreed to settle key issues through arbitration, including alimony, property division, and attorney fees. The judge pointed out the case is 412 days old and has been delayed multiple times. The arbitration is still on, with a decision expected within 30 days, but the trial date is now locked in.
The split has been anything but quiet since Elliott filed in June 2025 after nearly 10 years of marriage. Cho accused him of taking furniture and her jewelry. He denied it, saying he only removed limited items, many from the basement, so he and his child could furnish a new place after leaving what he described as a hostile environment. He also accused her of erratic behavior. Both anchors are 55 and each has one child from a previous relationship. Even their two Portuguese water dogs have become part of the legal back-and-forth.
It’s been a long, messy road, and the December court dates mean this one is far from over. What do you think? Should judges force a trial date when both sides are already trying to settle through arbitration?
