Joy Behar Dislocates Shoulder Backstage, Misses "The View" — But She'll Be Back Soon

Joy Behar was missing from“The View”on Thursday, and now we know why. The longtime co-host dislocated her shoulder in a backstage fall, according to her rep, who told Page Six that nothing is broken and the shoulder has been put back in place. She’s expected to return to the table by mid next week. Honestly? Best-case scenario for a scary-sounding headline.

Sunny Hostin announced the news at the top of Thursday’s episode, telling viewers that their“dear friend Joy”had dislocated her shoulder. With Whoopi Goldberg also out filming a movie, the moderator chair has been swinging between hosts, and Sherri Shepherd stepped in as a guest host. Sunny, who took the moderator seat for the day, joked that she landed it because she’s the next oldest host. Self-aware queen behavior.

Behar has been part of“The View”since it launched in 1997, sitting out only two seasons, and she just wrapped a London play before this. So the woman is busy, resilient, and clearly not slowing down anytime soon. Here’s hoping that shoulder heals fast and the table is back to full strength mid next week.

Are you team“let Joy rest and come back stronger”or team“we need her back at that table immediately”? Sound off in the comments.
