JoJo Fletcher is opening up about the not-so-glamorous side of finding love on national television. The former Bachelorette told Page Six that the intense media scrutiny after her 2016 engagement to Jordan Rodgers“wrecked”them during their first year together. Headlines swirled, rumors flew, and much of what was written didn’t match reality. As Fletcher put it,“In the moment, it wrecked us.”
Their solution wasn’t another TV appearance. It was disappearing from the spotlight. Fletcher said they“got out of the bubble as soon as we could,”returning to normal life and normal work instead of building a brand around their engagement. That choice carried them through two COVID-related wedding postponements and eventually to a May 2022 marriage.
These days, life looks a lot different. The couple welcomed their daughter, Romy Blair Rodgers, on December 23, 2025, via emergency C-section. A decade after the finale, Fletcher says they can laugh about the old drama and she’s still grateful for the show, even with the chaos it brought. Would you trade privacy for a shot at love on TV?
